How Rare Kind works

Delivery

Carriers, label formats, timing, and what to do if a parcel goes missing.

Who arranges delivery?
Rare Kind arranges delivery through our shipping partner Sendcloud. At checkout you pick a carrier from the seller's preferred list (Royal Mail, Evri, or InPost). Your postage goes straight to us; we buy the label on your behalf as soon as your payment clears, and the seller receives either a PDF to print or a QR code for drop-off (whichever they've chosen on their shipping preferences). The seller then has 7 days to post your item.
Why do I see different carrier options on different listings?
Each seller picks which carriers they're willing to ship with on their shipping-preferences page. You only see the ones that seller has ticked. Sellers who haven't set any preferences yet fall back to all three carriers we support.
Does the carrier I pick affect the price?
Yes. Each carrier is quoted live at checkout for the parcel size the seller declared (small, medium, or large). You'll see the specific price for Royal Mail, Evri, and InPost next to each radio option, rounded to the nearest 10p. InPost is usually cheapest on smaller parcels because of their locker-to-door service; Royal Mail and Evri are closer to each other and often beat InPost on medium / large. Convenience matters too — drop-off options, delivery speed, tracking — but cost is part of the pick now.
How long should I wait for an item?
Sellers have 7 days to post after payment — after that the order auto-cancels and you're refunded. Once posted, delivery itself depends on the service and is usually two to five working days. If your parcel still hasn't arrived 7 days after the estimated delivery date, open a dispute from your order page. That gives the carrier breathing room for a delayed-but-still-moving parcel and keeps us well within the 30-day carrier-insurance claim window if the parcel is genuinely lost — so don't sit on it either.
Where's the QR code for my drop-off service?
This one's for sellers. Pick your label format on shipping preferences — Print at home (PDF) or QR code (drop-off, no printing). After a buyer pays, your order page shows the button you chose. All three carriers we support (Royal Mail, Evri, InPost) handle both formats, so the option you set always works.
I'm a seller — which carriers can I enable?
Go to shipping preferences. You can tick any combination of Royal Mail, Evri, and InPost — the three carriers we currently support. Leave everything unticked to offer all three to the buyer.
