How Rare Kind works
Refunds & disputes
Opening a dispute, how refunds reach your account, and changing your mind.
- What if the item doesn't match the listing?
- You have two days from delivery to open an in-platform dispute (fourteen days if you bought from a business seller — the longer window incorporates the statutory right to cancel). Go to your order page and tap "Raise a dispute" — describe the issue, add photos if you can, and our team steps in. Resolutions range from full refund to partial refund depending on what happened.
- How do refunds work?
- Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with. They typically appear in your account within five to ten working days depending on your bank.
- Can I change my mind after buying?
- Short answer: yes, but use it sparingly — and only before the seller ships. While an order is still in Waiting to ship, a Cancel order button appears on your order page. It fully refunds you (item, postage, buyer protection) but also leaves a system-generated 1-star cancellation review on your profile and ticks up a public cancellation count visible to future sellers. Cancelling because you changed your mind is a real hit to your buyer reputation; cancelling because the seller asked you to (a pricing error, a missed-listing issue) is the same button and same reputation cost — in that case, message the seller first to see if they can cancel from their side, which carries no buyer penalty. Business-seller orders also carry the 14-day statutory right to cancel after delivery — see the returns policy.
